The BS Applied Mathematics program aims to produce graduates proficient in the use of Mathematics in modeling complex natural and social phenomena critical to the solution of vital problems facing the nation. It aims to produce graduates who can think critically and creatively across disciplines, and apply quantitative techniques for informed decision-making and problem solving. The curriculum provides the students with the fundamental Mathematics concepts, principles and tools needed to solve practical problems. As such, there will be core courses in pure and applied mathematics. Students will then choose from a wide variety of elective courses in Operations Research, Actuarial Science, Biomathematics, Mathematical Finance and other fields. Practicum and a special problem will also be required for preparation of the student to the workplace and the real world.
