Mr. Lester Charles A. Umali, Assistant Professor of Mathematics in IMSP, has been appointed Study Leader for the project "Developing, Testing, and Validating Rapid Risk and Vulnerability Assessment Tools and Techniques" under the UPLB-CHED PHERNet research program entitled "Enhancing Food Security Through Synergistic Climate Change Adaptation Program in Biodiversity and Agriculture." The program aims to contribute to the country's food security agenda by developing and disseminating adaptation models on place-specific biodiversity and environmental risk management strategies that are responsive to climate change.
Prof. Umali will perform comparative analysis of several climate change vulnerability models in terms of their utility in local government planning of selected municipalities in the provinces of Quezon and Laguna. Th
