UPLB students to represent the Philippines in Israeli Science Camp

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines is sending four brilliant minds to participate in the prestigious Asian Science Camp (ASC), which will be held in Jerusalem, Israel from August 26-30. The conference, which has been promoting young scientists from all over Asia and the Pacific, will gather three hundred young geniuses and it will include John Keith Velasquez Magali, Shereyl Aguirre Daguinod, Rovi Angelo Beloya Villaos, and Nicole Dayanghirang Olayres of the University of the Philippines-Los Banos. They are headed by faculty adviser, Mr. Lou Serafin Lozada.

IMSP BS Applied Physics student Janeal Charmaigne Casco won 3rd place in the DOST Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) Regional Sibol Awards (College Level) held on October 28, 2011 at SM City Masinag, Antipolo City. Her entry "A Magnetic Wall-Climbing Mobile Robot for Video-based Inspection of Cracks and Corrosions" is the result of her thesis work under the supervision of Prof. Nelio C. Altoveros.
